It smells a bit like horse urine. The taste is fruity, with noticeable notes of cherry and sweet cherry.
Overall, it has red fruit and plum flavors. Surprisingly tasty.
N'ice Chouffe - 4 pts
The alcohol is almost entirely undetectable, which isn’t surprising given its low content. The beer is very pleasant, with a gentle fruity note. In the background, there's a subtle hint of good black tea. The flavor is somehow both intense and unassuming at the same time. It’s perfect for leisurely sipping on a warm day.
10.12.2024 - Brugge
Cherry Chouffe - 6 pts
A very sweet and incredibly fruity beer. The cherry flavor is indeed noticeable. Despite its 8% alcohol content, it is not detectable at all, being perfectly masked. This makes the beer exceptionally deceptive. The fact that it is very sweet means it's not something you can drink in large quantities. But one might try to do so. The results could be quite surprising

Gouden Carolus Whiskey Infused - 8,5 pts
A very pleasant aroma of bread crust, with the scent of freshly baked, slightly toasted bread. There's also a touch of chocolate in the mix. Despite the high alcohol content, it’s barely noticeable in the taste, hidden beneath other flavors, not taking center stage. The beer is incredibly tasty, with a sweet flavor. You could say it's dangerously delicious, like a treacherous lover who brings you pleasure only to break your legs in the end, and yet, you can't hold a grudge against her.

Gouden Carolus Tripel - 8 pts
The taste is pleasantly sour, leaving a subtle fruity aftertaste on the tongue, like a blend of apple and cherry. At first, there's also a faint hint of wild rose, delicate but promising. As you continue, the wild rose fades, and the fruit notes become more pronounced. The alcohol is present but not overpowering—well hidden in the background. Overall, it's a well-balanced and flavorful beer.
30.08.2024 - Brugge
Gentse Strop Fier Blond Bier - 3 pts
The only good thing that can be said about this beer is that it’s slightly bitter. Unfortunately, that's about it. The taste is overwhelmingly dominated by alcohol. Interestingly, the initial floral aroma gives a glimmer of hope, a promise of something pleasant. Sadly, it's a false promise, and the first sip quickly shatters that hope.

Sr. Bernardus Tripel - 4,5 pts
When I smell it, I detect fruity notes. The taste is strongly marked by clove. Unfortunately, the hint of alcohol that emerges afterward slightly spoils this pleasant flavor.

LA Trappe Trappistes Isid'Or - 5 pts
There's a strong scent of alcohol, but it's less noticeable in the taste. A delicate hint of clove appears. If this flavor were more pronounced, it would be tastier, and the rating would be higher.

The scent is sour, while the taste is mildly chocolatey. It’s slightly sweet. No fireworks, but pleasant. Nothing surprising—like an unattractive, slow-witted but kind woman.

St. Bernardus abt 12 - 2 pts
In the aroma, you can discover a poor man's vegetable soup, one made from pickled vegetables. The taste has a faint hint of caramel. It lingers in the background, wanting to come forward, but unfortunately, the alcohol effectively overwhelms and drowns it out. It’s too strong, too direct.
29.08.2024 - Brugge
Chimay Peres Trappistes (blue) - 7 pts
Deeply chocolatey, almost velvety in taste. It caresses the tongue and palate like a deceitful lover. Deceitful, because despite its 9% alcohol content, the alcohol is non-intrusive and hidden behind the rich flavor. You can barely sense it at all, making this beer potentially very dangerous. Especially since it goes down like liquid gold.
29.08.2024 - Brugge
Paix Dieu Triple - 4 pts
From the very first sip, the taste of alcohol is unmistakable. The scent is equally dominated by a strong presence of alcohol, which overwhelms everything else. It takes center stage, overshadowing all other aromas. As if that weren't enough, this alcohol carries a flavor... of wood. Drinking this beer feels like having a wooden stave from a barrel on your tongue. And not the pleasant, warm kind of wood, but rather a crude one soaked in alcohol. It's a 10% ABV beer, but it feels like there's much more.
